Academic Honesty Policy

Academic honesty at Blissful International School is defined as each student exhibiting and upholding the highest integrity and honesty in all of their academic work. Every student must accept personal responsibility for their behavior in both social and academic endeavors if the school community is to be healthy. Every child must engage in an honest and vital quest of information if they are to succeed in school.

Academic dishonesty refers to a student’s attempt to demonstrate knowledge and/or skills that the student does not actually possess.

The following are some typical examples of academic fraud:

  • Cheating: involves the following behaviors: a) sharing and receiving information during tests, exams, assessments, and other similar activities; b) using any notes or information while taking an exam; c) sharing work, which entails writing a paper for someone else or having someone else write a paper for you. (Jones, 2001).
  • Deception: Deception is giving a teacher or instructor false information about a required academic assignment. Examples of this include exceeding the allotted amount of time for a take-home test, using a dishonest justification when requesting a deadline extension, or pretending to have turned in work.
  • Impersonation: This type of cheating is having someone else complete an assignment or exam instead of the student who was given the task. The entire academic project is "outsourced" to another person or business, usually for compensation.

Any of these behaviors are major offenses at Blissful International School, and students who engage in them risk being expelled right away. Any sort of dishonesty interferes severely with both academic and personal development, and we expect and encourage our learners and students to understand this. As a result, the only acceptable quality and the only effective method for learning is academic honesty.

Students, Parents, and Teachers Responsibilities

  1. Students: All students are expected to complete all school-related tests, quizzes, projects, reports, and both internal and external examinations with honesty, truthfulness, and sincerity. This policy applies to all exams equally.
  2. Parents: All parents are required to adopt the academic integrity policy’s wholesome philosophy and uphold both its spirit and text by encouraging their children to uphold academic honesty both during and after their time at The Concord School.
  3. Teachers: Throughout the academic year, it is anticipated that all teachers regularly go over the idea of academic honesty with their pupils. Additionally, it is expected of every teacher to report and adequately discipline any cases of academic dishonesty.
